This niche finance company, established for over 25 years, is looking to establish a finance function to support its Sydney based operations. They are looking to appoint an experienced accountant to perform a diverse hands on role in providing comprehensive financial and management reporting for the Australian business.

This exciting 'green field' opportunity will provide the successful individual an opportunity to bring the finance function 'in-house' with the future potential to hire and manage a team of finance professionals.

More specifically you will be responsible for:

• Budget planning and monitoring
• Management Accounting and reporting to the Board and UK Head Office
• Financial Services Compliance monitoring and reporting of financial resources
• Establishing effective financial controls through management accounting and reporting systems, budgetary controls and expenditure procedures.
• Identification of cost savings or efficiencies through reform of processes or practices
• Analysis and interpretation of financial results
• Provide advice and support to the Managing Director and the Senior Management Team
• Prepare State and Federal Tax returns and ensure compliance
• Completion of Statutory Accounts to trial balance

With strong communication skills and a pro-active approach are a CPA or CA qualified accountant with a minimum of three years experience gained within an Australian Financial Services Company.

Knowledge of financial requirements for Australian Financial Services Licensees is essential; previous experience dealing with ASIC and the ATO is desirable; a hands on and flexible attitude is a must.
